Lewisporte, NL
Lewisporte is the largest community between Grand Falls-Windsor and Gander. It is a large deep water port and the town services several smaller communities close by. Take Route 340 north from the Trans Canada to get to Lewisporte.
Lewisporte has one of the largest marinas in Atlantic Canada. It was interesting to wander through and see some really nice boats. The town is large enough to have all the services you would want including; groceries, gas, restaurants and shopping.
Woolfrey’s Pond is right next to town. There is a boardwalk trail around the pond and a side trail to a lookout. The town also has a full service RV park next to the pond. It’s a good place to stay for a few days and explore the area.
