Old Shop is another Newfoundland town with a colourful name. It’s located between South Dildo and Spread Eagle, on the Avalon Peninsula. Old Shop is on Dildo Arm, across from Dildo. Dildo Arm is at the south end of Trinity Bay.
Old Shop used to be known as Old Chop, because they were cutting ship timbers there. Somehow the name evolved to Old Shop after the area was settled.
Old Shop is off Route 80, just watch for the sign in South Dildo.
