Salmon Cove is on HWY 70 north of Carbonear. 70 follows the coastline north.
Once again some locals told us to check out the beach at Salmon Cove. Take Pennys Rd to your right and follow your nose. The beach is at the end of the town.
You will pay a small entry fee which is put to very good use. This beach park is gorgeous. Beautiful grassy picnic area, washrooms, well kept beach, shallow water and an amazing setting make this a great family spot.
The beach is an unusual gray colour and is very wide. Cliffs rise on both sides of the cove. At the far end of the beach the Salmon Cove River flows into the cove. The water is warmer and shallow, great for playing in.
