Mose Ambrose is part of the amalgamated community of St. Jacques-Coomb’s Cove. The town also includes St. Jacques, Boxey, English Harbour West, Wreck Cove and Coomb’s Cove. The town hall is in English Harbour West. The town stretches along Route 363, Connaigre Peninsula, Fortune Bay.
The Bay that Mose Ambrose is located on is called Great Ma Jambe. The next bay to the west on the South Coast is called Little Ma Jambe. The original French name for Mose Ambrose was Ma Jambe.
We stopped for gas and a snack at Yarn’s Store. You can pick up groceries here as well, it’s a well stocked store. It’s a good place to stop before continuing on to Boxey, Wreck Cove and Coomb’s Cove.
The pretty little church on the east side of town is St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
