Not sure which spelling is correct. Madrock, Mad Rock, Mad Rocks.
We were told by locals at the gas station that we had to see Madrock. What a visual treat!
Follow Hwy 70 north of Clarke’s Beach to Bay Roberts. Turn right (east) onto Water St. You will pass the Madrock Cafe & Crafts. We did not stop there, but, we have it on very good authority that they serve the best toutons! Continue to the end of the road to reach the Madrock parking lot.
Madrock is part of a trail system called Bay Roberts East Shoreline Heritage Trail. When we were there the water was quite calm. There are a lot of partially submerged rocks at this point. With heavy winds and rough seas the show must be spectacular! Make sure you go up the hill to Franey’s Gulch. The trail continues beyond this point as part of the larger trail system.
