Caplin Cove Trail | La Scie

If you are staying at the Island Cove RV Park, the Caplin Cove Trail is easy to find. Just walk from your trailer to the end of the campground and follow a short trail to the wooden arbour. If you are staying someplace else in La Scie the campground is easy to find. Just drive to the end of Water Street on the north side of the harbour.

There is a parking area at the end of the street right in front of the campground. Stop by the campground office. They sell a pass for the park which helps with the upkeep of all the trails. It’s a short walk through the park to the beach, the Lookout Trail and the Caplin Cove Trail.

The campground is built on a cliff overlooking the harbour. The Caplin Cove Trail runs from the campground down to a fishing dock towards town.

The trail follows the shoreline and you get some great views as you descend. The first part of the trail is difficult walking on the broken rocks from the cliff above you. Part of the trail goes through a wooded area. The trail ends with a staircase down to shoreline level.

There is a rocky beach area, a large slipway and a fishing operation at the bottom of the trail. The trail is linear. To return back to the campground you can follow the road or return back by the trail.
