To drive to Lark Harbour you will take Route 450 west from Corner Brook along the south shore of the Humber Arm. It is the last village on the Route 450. It sits on the north shore of Lark Harbour which flows out to the Bay of Islands. On the south side of Lark Harbour is Blow Me Down Provincial Park.
As you come down to the waters’ level you will see the Coast Guard Station on your right. It is a really great spot to stop with its beautiful vantage point of Lark Harbour as it wraps around the bay. It was here that I also got some bird close ups. As you continue your drive you will come to the Clover Farm Market, where you can stock up on munchies. Little Port Road is beside the market and you will want to take the road to see Little Port.
You have only one main road to follow and it will take you around the harbour. On your left on top of the hill you can see the cemetery. Small white stones lined up on a grassy knoll. At the roads end you will find a stone beach, and a view out to the Bay of Islands Boats of various sizes are in dry dock.
In these outports the general stores are often a Clover Farm affiliate. Basic packaged foodstuffs will be found there, drinks and liquor. Take a walk around. It is amazing what they have in inventory.
Take note of the location of the cemeteries. Most of them are located on a hilltop that provides the deceased with the best views to be had in the area.
