Harbour le Cou is at the end of Route 470 about 45 minutes from Port aux Basques. It’s part of the town Rose Blanche – Harbour le Cou. The town has been made famous by the song of the same name. Harbour le Cou has been performed by many artists. If you take in a Newfoundland music show, it’s often performed.
As you drive into Rose Blanche, you’ll see a sign for Harbour le Cou. Turn left and follow the road down to the end. You can turn right and follow that road out to the wharf. It’s all pretty, great stages and very pretty homes.
The town is on a protected harbour. The harbour was used by the French in the 1700’s and the area was permanently settled by the English in the 1800’s. If you are in Rose Blanche, you can also walk to Harbour le Cou on the Old Road Trail.
