St. Paul’s is a community at the north end of Gros Morne National Park. This enclave in the park includes; Hickey’s Cove, Old House Rocks, Two Mile Pond and St. Paul’s Bay. St. Paul’s Inlet is a large fjord that lies within the park.
St. Paul’s has a good sized grocery store where you can get all the necessities. Cross the bridge going north towards Cow Head and you’ll also find a gas station, restaurant and golf course. If you are heading north on the Viking Trail, you’ll want to fuel up in St. Paul’s, the next gas is about an hour up the road.
The steel bridge is a notable landmark on the Viking Trail (Route 430), the bridge spans St. Paul’s Tickle. The bridge was completed in 1962. All traffic to the Northern Peninsula and Labrador crosses this bridge.
On the north side of the bridge, there is a dock and slipway, which is a great place to take in the view and take a few photos.
St. Paul’s Bay is salt water. St. Paul’s Inlet is fresh water. The tickle (channel) where the bridge crosses connects the Inlet to the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
