Conne River

Conne River is the centre of the Miawpukek First Nation. The town of Conne River is across Bay d’Espoir from St. Alban’s.

Drive south on Route 360 from the Trans Canada at Bishop’s Falls. Take Route 365 west to get to Conne River. The cut-off is just a few kilometres south of the St. Alban’s exit.

Conne River is fully serviced with a grocery store, gas station and school. The community hosts one of North America’s largest Powwow’s every July. Dancers come from both the United States and Canada.

You can visit the Powwow grounds anytime. It’s at the east end of town where you’ll also find St. Anne’s School. There is a trail leading to a lookout that starts from the Powwow grounds.

Camping is available at Jipujijkuei Kuespem Provincial Park, which is on Route 360, just south of the Route 365 junction.
