Wreck Cove

Wreck Cove is part of the amalgamated community of St. Jacques-Coomb’s Cove. The town also includes English Harbour West, St. Jacques, Mose Ambrose, Boxey and Coomb’s Cove. The town hall is in English Harbour West. All of the communities are lined up on Route 363 along Fortune Bay. Wreck Cove is across a peninsula on Great Bay De L’Eau.

This area is called the Coast of Bays. Of all the large bays, inlets and fjords, Great Bay De L’Eau has almost no remaining communities.

Follow Route 363 west past English Harbour West, Mose Ambrose and Boxey towards Coomb’s Cove. The last turn-off on your right, takes you over to Wreck Cove. You’ll find a pretty little town with a protected harbour. They been building new slipways and docks. There are lots of small fishing boats, nets, crab and lobster traps.
