The proper name is “Jack Ward Memorial General Store Heritage Centre”.
The site consists of two buildings. The main general store and a fishing store beside it. The buildings are located on the wharf on the island of Leading Tickles.
The stage is full of neat things connected with the old fishing ways.
Inside the second building there is a craft and gift store stocked with items made by the locals. If you go up the stairs, at the back, it leads to a small museum. Donations of artifacts have been made by the locals and the collection is extensive. The exhibits are divided into living areas. The second floor also has a small cafe that runs at different times.
The yellow building is thought to be the oldest known standing structure in Notre Dame Bay. Originally the main level served as the general store. The second level served as the home for Jack Ward and his family.
