Following the coast of Placentia Bay, the next community north of Argentia is Fox Harbour. If you take a drive up Route 102 to see the Atlantic Charter Memorial in Ship Harbour, you’ll drive through Fox Harbour.

The town wraps around the harbour. Off in the distance, you can see the old American airfield at Argentia.

The Annie Healy

The Annie Healy is a fishing schooner that was built in Fox Harbour in 1900. The ship became know around Placentia Bay as ‘Big Annie’. The ship and all hands on board were lost in a gale in 1927. The tragedy happened only three miles from Fox Harbour.

As you drive through town you’ll see a parking area and interpretive sign on your left.
