03 Apr RV Repairs in Newfoundland
We love our trailer, it’s a 1996 Travelaire 5th wheel built by Glendale in Strathroy, Ontario. We don’t bring it home to London every winter, we leave it in Newfoundland. Since its an older unit, we need to fix stuff from time to time. There aren’t that many RV dealers on the island, and in the summer they are so busy, they can’t always help you.
We decided to put together this post to start sharing places you can get your RV repaired in the summer. If you have some good stories, email them to us an we’ll add some more recommendations.
RV Repairs
We’ve had our propane water heater fail a couple of times. Most recently we were in Cow Head. We were lucky enough to get the name of Lloyd Sheppard in Pasadena (between Corner Brook and Deer Lake). Lloyd does not have a shop, but arranged for us to meet him in Deer Lake on a nice day. We gave him the model number of the heater and he came with all the parts he figured we’d need.
Lloyd talked with Gerard from Gateway to the North RV Park in Deer Lake and he let us use one of his campsites for a couple of hours. Gerard told us that we had landed on the best RV mechanic in Western Newfoundland 🙂 .
Here’s Lloyd’s contact information:

Mechanical Repairs
Every spring we get the trailer checked over before we hit the road. We use C & C in Port aux Basques. They’ve done brakes, bearings and new tires for us. They also have tow trucks and they’ve come out to get our pickup when the starter was shot.
C & C Enterprises Inc.
25 Grand Bay Rd
Channel-Port aux Basques, NL
(709) 695-3313
Islander RV has closed down permanently at both locations
