You drive through St. Lunaire-Griquet on Route 436 if you are heading to L’Anse aux Meadows.
St. Lunaire-Griquet has all services including; gas, groceries, liquor, hardware and a restaurant. There is also a couple of pretty nice gift shops. The town is spread around quite a few bays and inlets. In June you’ll probably see icebergs here. We drove to St. Lunaire-Griquet more than once to use our phone. Cell phone service north of here is spotty at best.
The biggest attraction in town is The Dark Tickle Company. You’ll see their jams and syrups in almost every gift store in Newfoundland. They have a small factory and a beautiful gift store. On the upper level there is a small museum and a coffee shop.
Hedderson’s is a good convenience store with groceries and liquor. We’ve also picked up fresh baking here.
Burden’s is one of those classic Newfoundland stores that has pretty much everything. They also have a nice big paved parking lot, which is handy if you are driving an RV.
The Viking Shop is a cute little shop. They have quality souvenirs to remember your visit to L’Anse aux Meadows. It’s a very nice store to browse through.
We really enjoyed The Daily Catch. It’s a nice full service restaurant with great food. We’d highly recommend it.
