Wild Bight is on Route 435 between Cook’s Harbour and Boat Harbour. Route 435 changes to gravel at Cook’s Harbour. The turn-off for the Cape Norman Lighthouse is just past Wild Bight.
You can see the Strait of Belle Isle from Wild Bight. In June you are very likely to see icebergs.
We also saw caribou in Wild Bight. Caribou are members of the deer family. They are unique in that the females also have antlers. As you can see by the photos, their colour varies widely. We have found in Newfoundland, you find moose in wooded areas. You are more likely to see caribou in areas that are more barren.
