Pouch Cove is about 28 km north of St. John’s. If you took NL 20 to Flatrock, just continue heading north.

Pouch Cove is pronounced “Pooch” Cove. The original settlement was established in 1611. The first settlers consisted of British fishermen, carpenters and artisans.

The present population is around 2,000.

Pouch Cove is really beautiful in every directi0n. As you drive in from the south you can park at the old harbour ramp. It is a great place for a picnic. You can see most of the community, the coastline and the “new” harbour ramp across the cove. For Bob and I, the boat ramp on the north side of the cove is amazing! The pulley system to get the boats up on the ramp and the physical work that would be involved, boggle a landlubber’s imagination.
