Purcell's Harbour

Take Route 340 north to Twillingate. Just after you cross the causeway from New World Island to South Twillingate Island, you’ll see the turn-off for Purcell’s Harbour.

It’s a small natural harbour and you’ll see several stages and stores.

Stages are where fish were unloaded, split and salted, prior to setting the fillets out onto flakes for drying.

Stores are sheds where fishing gear is stored.
