Greenspond is one of our favourite places in Newfoundland. When you are in Greenspond you can drive around town and enjoy the scenery and the heritage buildings. There are several great trails on the island as well. Don’t leave town without dropping by Ida’s Place for tea and home-made scones.
Ida’s Place is on Wings Island, which is on the south side of Greenspond Island and connected by a small bridge. To get to Greenspond, take Route 320 north from Gambo. You’ll see signs for the Greenspond turn-off on your right. Greenspond is an island that’s connected to Newfoundland by a causeway. There’s a map on the bottom of this page to find Ida’s. Don’t worry, there are lots of direction signs for Ida’s when you drive into town.
Your host at Ida’s Place is Heather Gordon, she can fill you in on the history of this beautifully restored salt box home.
