Conche is one of Newfoundland’s best kept secrets. If you are planning a trip to the Northern Peninsula, we’d definitely recommend adding a couple of days so you can visit Conche. Take Route 434 from Route 433 just north of Roddicton. It’s a 24 km gravel road that’s scheduled to be paved starting in 2018. Make sure you have a full tank of gas before heading down to Conche, there is no gas station in town.

The trail starts at the plane crash site in Conche. It’s a gravel ATV trail that takes you up a pretty steep hill to the top of a ridge. Looking west you see Conche and a waterfall across the harbour. Looking east, you see the Grey Islands. We visited in June and also saw several icebergs.
