Sandyville has been the southern part of the town Hermitage-Sandyville since 1969. Hermitage-Sandyville straddles a peninsula that sits between Hermitage Bay and Connaigre Bay. Sandyville is on the Connaigre Bay side of the peninsula. Hermitage is on Hermitage Bay.
As the name suggests, Sandyville has large sandy beaches. The town was originally called Dawson’s Cove and was settled in the early 1800’s.
Sandyville is on Route 364. You’ll drive through Sandyville if you take the drive to Seal Cove, which is at the western end of Route 364.
