Salt Harbour

When you are driving across New World Island on Route 340 to get to Twillingate, you’ll pass Route 346 for Toogood Arm. The next road you come to on your right is Herring Neck Road, which takes you to Herring Neck.

We decided to head to Herring Neck and found Salt Harbour by accident. Salt Harbour is on Salt Harbour Island, which is joined to New World Island by a causeway. You’ll see a big green sign with an arrow for Salt Harbour just after you enter Herring Neck.

Salt Harbour is very pretty, one of our favourites in the Twillingate/New World Island area. Salt Harbour has some beautiful well taken care of salt box houses that reminded us of Salvage, on the Eastport Peninsula. Just drive through town on Salt Harbour Road and make sure your camera batteries are charged 🙂 .
