Avalon Peninsula | Trinity Bay

Avalon Trinity Bay communities are arranged from south to north. Take Route 80 North from the Trans Canada. At Old Perlican, continue on Route 70 to the northern tip of the peninsula.

Old Shop is across from Dildo, on Dildo Arm.

Dildo is a pretty town with lots to see and do.

When we were at Dildo Brewing, they were lined up out to the street.

Stop in at Harnum’s Bakery in New Harbour.

Heart’s Content has a heritage district with several heritage buildings.

The Cable Station in Heart’s Content is where the first successful Trans-Atlantic cable came ashore.

New Perlican features colourful stages and footprint hill.

Winterton is a pretty town featuring the Newfoundland Wooden Boat Museum.

The Wooden Boat Museum in Winterton is one of the best museums in the province.

Hants Harbour is just north of Winterton on Route 80.

Old Perlican is a large fishing port with services.

Bay de Verde is on the northern end of the peninsula on Route 70. It’s one of the prettiest towns in the province.

Red Head Cove is where you can get a good view of Baccalieu Island.

Grates Cove is an ‘end of the road’ community that you won’t want to miss.
