Avalon Peninsula | Conception Bay

Follow Route 70 North along the west side of Conception Bay. Places are organized from south to north.

You will find many heritage buildings and a tunnel in Brigus.

Burnt Head Trail near Cupids is an easy trail with an amazing sea arch.

Cupids was settled in 1610, making it the oldest community in Canada.

If you like gin or vodka, you’ll love the Newfoundland Distillery in Clarke’s Beach.

Madrock is at the end of a narrow peninsula near Bay Roberts.

Carbonear is just north of Harbour Grace. You’ll find heritage buildings, shopping and restaurants.

A beautifully maintained park and beach at Salmon Cove, north of Carbonear and Victoria.

The Highlands Walking Trail in Perry’s Cove takes you a Blow Hole on the rocky beach.

The General Store in Small Point is famous for its’ tea buns.

Western Bay has one of the coolest boardwalks in Newfoundland.

Ochre Pit Cove had a good sized fishing harbour and many pretty buildings and homes.

Low Point is a small ‘end of the road’ community near Bay de Verde.
