You drive across New World Island on Route 340 to get to Twillingate.
Communities are organized more or less from south to north.
If you’ve heard the famous Newfoundland song I’s the B’y, you’ve heard the chorus Fogo, Twillingate, Moreton’s Harbour, all around the circle!
When you get to Moreton’s Harbour, turn left on Valley Pond Road and it’s not far to Valley Pond.
Continue on Route 345 through Moreton’s Harbour, the road ends at Tizzard’s Harbour.
You’ll see the signs for Sansome’s along Route 340 before you get to the causeway to Twillingate Island. We call Sansome’s in Hillgrade the best place to eat in Twillingate, that’s not in Twillingate.
Route 346 takes you to Toogood Arm. Just before you get there, turn right and take the road into Pike’s Arm. The town has an amazing lookout trail.
The last turnoff on your right before you leave New World Island is for Herring Neck. Take that road, towards the end you’ll see a sign to turn left for Salt Harbour.
If you are visiting the Irish Loop and famous Ferryland, Tara House is the perfect base to explore from.
